Dealio creates a clear, signed, timestamped record that a deal happened. We are:
A simple record-keeping tool
A way to create immutable deal records
Fast and straightforward
Dealio is NOT:
Legal advice
A contract platform
An enforcement service
A dispute resolution service
A payment processor
What Data We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to create and maintain deal records:
Deal information: Item description, price, payment method, and any notes you provide
Signatures: The names you provide when signing (not handwritten signatures)
Email addresses: Only if you choose to provide them (optional)
Timestamps: When deals are created, viewed, and signed
IP addresses: For audit trail purposes only
Browser information: Basic user agent data for audit trail
Why We Collect This Data
We collect this data solely to:
Create accurate, timestamped deal records
Maintain an audit trail showing when deals were created, viewed, and signed
Provide you with downloadable PDF records
Ensure deal records are immutable once completed
What We DON'T Do
We do NOT:
Track your behavior or browsing habits
Share or sell your data to third parties
Use external analytics services (Google Analytics, etc.)
Profile users or create user accounts
Send marketing emails
Store your raw access tokens (only hashed versions)
We do use limited conversion tracking (Meta Pixel + Conversions API) to measure whether ads lead to completed payments. This helps us improve ad spend efficiency and reduce acquisition cost.
How We Store Data
Your data is encrypted and stored securely
Your data is stored securely:
Database: PostgreSQL database hosted on DigitalOcean
Security: Access tokens are hashed using SHA-256 (we never store raw tokens)
Encryption: Database connections use SSL/TLS encryption
Backups: Standard database backups for data recovery
Access to Your Deals
Dealio uses token-based access (no accounts required):
Each deal has two unique, unguessable access tokens (one for seller, one for buyer)
Only someone with the token can view or sign a deal
Tokens are provided when you create a deal
Keep your tokens secure - they provide permanent access to your deals
Data Retention
Deal records are stored permanently once completed:
Completed deals are immutable and cannot be deleted (by design)
This ensures deal records remain accurate and permanent
Uncompleted deals may be removed after extended inactivity (not yet implemented)
Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access your deal records using your access token
Download PDF copies of completed deals
Understand what data we collect (this document)
Note: Because deals are immutable records (like a receipt), completed deals cannot be deleted. This is by design to maintain record integrity.
If you want to request deletion of optional personal data (like an email you provided), see our User Data Deletion page.
Third-Party Services
Dealio uses minimal third-party services:
DigitalOcean: Hosting and database (infrastructure only)
Stripe: Payment processing for record-keeping fees
Meta (Facebook): Conversion tracking (Meta Pixel + Conversions API) to measure ad performance
Conversion tracking may use standard browser identifiers (for example, Meta cookies like _fbp / _fbc) and hashed identifiers (like hashed email when provided) to improve event matching. Learn more in Meta’s documentation and policies.
Children's Privacy
Dealio is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when changes were made. Continued use of Dealio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Contact
If you have questions about this privacy policy or how we handle data, please contact us through the appropriate channels.
